Fan Fare Friday SMASHES Goal!

Last Friday, hundreds of supporters braved the intense Texas sun to help those who often have no relief from that heat.

As amazing musical performances played on, car after car arrived brimming with fans and donors eager to help out. Many stayed to enjoy great food from our ever-amazing hosts Threadgill’s, treats from Hey Cupcake! and Rita’s Italian Ice while volunteers from our Platinum Sponsors Silicon Labs and Samsung Austin Semiconductor kept the day running like a well-oiled machine.

And the BUZZ was tremendous! KXAN, BobFM and KGSR broadcast live throughout the day, driving our participation higher than ever before – raising a record $118.616.56!!

As always, music was the heart of Fan Fare Friday and this year did not disappoint. Things kicked off early with a super fun kid’s concert from The Biscuit Brothers. Lunchtime guests enjoyed a rockin’ show from The South Austin Moonlighters. And some of Austin’s brightest stars shone brightly throughout the Afternoon Concert Series with sets from Marshall Hood, Carson McHone, Matt Dunnam, Mark Allan Atwood, So Long, Problems, Ashley Monical, Kem Watts, Eric Hisaw and Debbi Walton.

For the third year in a row we have been fortunate to extend Fan Fare Friday into the evening with the iconic Lonestar State of Mind concert series broadcast live on KGSR. This year we were grateful to include Austin’s favorite sons Charlie & Will Sexton joined by singer-songwriter Shannon McNally! We were also thrilled that 12-year-old Finley Sexton joined her dad on stage. Finley is becoming one of the most talked-about young performers in Austin, and it was the perfect addition to an already unforgettable show.

We couldn’t be more grateful to the LONG list of people who made Fan Fare Friday possible – many of whom contribute in some way throughout the entire 4-month Summer Fan Drive. They include:
