The annual Summer Fan Drive is not successful without community partners. There are several ways in which you can get involved

  • Donate Fans or Funds.

In 2019, Family Eldercare delivered over 7,000 fans across 14 counties. More than 11,000 seniors, adults with disabilities, and families with children benefited from the fan drive.

As Central Texas’ senior population continues to swell at one of the fastest rates in the nation, your support is more critical than ever. Please consider making a donation of a NEW 20″ box fan, a NEW 12″ oscillating fan OR a financial contribution this year.

  • Volunteer

From fan deliveries to outreach to administrative support, we need dozens of people to assist us with this enormous effort. Register here or email

    Here are our opportunities:

    1. Office Volunteer – We train you to run the fan drive office. Available shifts are M-Th 9am – 12 pm and 12 pm-3 pm and Fri 9a-12p. Must be 18.

    2. Summer Fan Drive Delivery Volunteer- Deliver fans to homebound elderly, people with disabilities and families with young children, primarily within Travis and Williamson counties. Flexible delivery schedules available as need and locations changes week from week.

    3. Fan Courier Volunteer – Pick up fans from participating Fire Stations and delivering them to Family Eldercare and our partner distribution sites. Volunteers have the option of being assigned to a particular fire station or distribution partner.

    4. Special Projects/Group Opportunities- To be considered, please register

What’s a fan drive? Kid Captains create and lead youth teams that collect fans or funds to help families that cannot afford to purchase a fan to stay cool in the searing Texas summer heat. Family Eldercare provides tips and guides for having a successful team drive.

Have fun at Shady Grove for free! You are invited to drop off your fan or financial donations at our Fans From Fans celebration, 6/19/20, at our main event at Shady Grove from 7a-1p.
